Either way. If he hits it outta the park, I'll be like "That's our Tommy!" If they muddle around at good-not-great level, I get the sour grapes woodie.

I'm okay either way. I mean, I'll be SO on the bandwagon if Tampa kicks everybody's butt.

That's once football starts, probably next fall, not this fall, unless they feel like rolling the dice for a month and doing a face-plant.

Good for him.

In life, at some point, everybody can use a change of scenery.

I do not see that as a New England thing, but as a Brady thing. He was not confortable in this environnement anymore so he left.

No need to search for melodrama. People leaving jobs because they do not suit them anymore happen everyday.

This. I wish some people here would realize this rather than constantly **** talking this franchise's greatest player who brought so much joy to our lives for almost 2 decades.. Living Legend, treat him as such.

At some point he'll realize, while Tampa may be fun, that kind of atmosphere is not the best for championships. He's going to miss Bill as soon as he find out that that coaching staff is a huge downgrade. Arians has zero (edit: 1) playoff win. Bowles' Jete defenses were never good. And Scarnecchia won't be there to protect him. It's not all about the talent.

Brady went to Florida to retire. He's coasting out his twilight years when 99.9% of football players are long out of the league, getting paid $25m per to throw jump balls to big young athletic receivers and his buddy Gronk.

His legacy is set in stone. Now he's just having a good time as long as he can. It's OK, he's in his 40s for crying out loud.

Why would that be relevant ? If anything this makes his statement more likely to reflect how he really feels and not some kind of PR game.
It matters because what I heard all this week was this, "Now Tom wants us to feel that he was unhappy all these times".. blah blah. He did not say that to the world. We don't know the whole context of the conversation with his throwing coach and I think it is not fair.
It may be how he feels, but there are many ways this comment can be misconstrued. It could just be the excitement of going to a new place, breaking the monotony, etc...
I will have responded differently if he said this to a media source directly.

What? Arians won a playoff game in Arizona and was in the NFCCG that year against Cam Newton's Panthers. Palmer threw 4 picks in that game to ensure a loss. Arians also won COY with 2 different teams (Colts, Cards). He also has SB wins as a coordinator with the Steelers. The guy is a great HC who has been stuck with crappy QB talent as a HC save for his first HC year with the Colts when he had a rookie Andrew Luck and took that team to the playoffs as the interim when Pagano left in week 1 due to illness.

In terms of the coaching, just wait to see how average to below average the Pats coaches look this season without the GOAT QB to cover for them. And yes that includes Bill too.

Brady has played for the same organization for 20 years and has reached the pinnacle numerous times.

It should be fun facing a new challenge to see if he can succeed in a different system and organization. It's something to reignite his competitive flame, that's not saying he ever lost it to begin with.

My bad. Arians is 1-2 in the playoffs and his sole win should have been a loss. If I'm not mistaken he beat GB in the 2015 NFC divisional where Dansby facemasked Rodgers on the game winning TD and no penalty was called.

COY of the year is a nice regular season honor. He's still a big zero in the playoffs as far as I'm concerned. And plenty of coaches have won more playoffs games with similar talent.

And Brady is 43 years old. Even if he stayed here he would not have taken this team very far.

Yeah Arians is a blowhard that has accountability issues and regularly gets outcoached. It was funny to watch how he reacted after our SNF game with Jimmy running the show.

Whenever he had success he was around QB talent like Big Ben, Luck and that one season Palmer survived without an injury. Whenever there was just some adversity his teams fell apart. And yet for some absurd reason he got labelled as some kind of QB whisperer.

The downgrade in coaching will be massive. But then there is also a big upgrade on talent on offense. Access to top of the line talent is the flipside if you are consistently a garbage tier team like the Bucs.

You realize the exact same arguments could be made about Bill prior to Brady? Except Bill never got to a conference champ game or was COY of the year twice and had a 5-11 record with Bledsoe, a first pick QB talent.

There is no doubt in my mind the Bucs will do well and be a pretty good team. But at some point the coaching staff is going to have to make a difference if they are going to be successful in the playoffs. Talent alone will get you only so far. How many times have we seen Bill and his staff win close playoff games where coaching was the difference?

Tom will always be Tom and "my QB". I will always cherish the memories and, to be frank, I wanted him to play out whatever's left in him in New England, with Belichick. One year, three years, even slightly overpaid - I was on board.

With that said, it's no fun reading these tweets and stuff.. I think he had a great time here, was universally loved in Boston, people adored him and the city is one of the best in the world, culture, sports, education, health facilities... and a beautiful mansion in Brookline, what's not to like?

So I hope these comments refer to playing football in general, not that Boston and team itself treated him bad or anything...

And we can make the same argument you did about Bill - he never had a top tiered QB before Brady. In fact, Arians has worked with better QBs than Bill did not including Brady.

Sure. I can grant that - Arians did more with more. And now Arians has the GOAT QB.
