If you go to pro football reference, every player drafted gets assigned a seasonal and career value score called AV.

if we just look at the career AV totals of players drafted by NE vs Balt vs Seat over the last 20, 10 and 5 year increments we see:

    Pats
    20 yr AV total: 2691
    Last 10 years: 1245
    Last 5 years: 299

    Balt
    20 yr AV total: 2669
    Last 10 years: 965
    Last 5 years: 358

    Seattle
    20 yr AV total: 2611
    10 yr AV total: 1295
    5 yr AV total: 315

Seattle is generally thought to have killed the draft the past decade but pats are right behind, and some of these careers have more legs.

the past 5 years are still a work in progress, and more time is needed to make any judgements, although the Pats 2017 draft was abysmal.

a lot depends on development of Isaiah Wynn, Stidham, Harry etc.

One thing to take into account was the year we lost a first rounder for nothing...

    Sounds about right

The direction of the team has a lot riding on the '18, '19, and '20 classes

Tons and tons of potential, have to develop everyone

    '17 was miserable

If '18 gives us a long-term LT, starting RB and starting LB it'll be a solid class (Sucks on Dawson)

If '19 pans out with Harry being a WR1, Wino being a starting edge, Stidham a competent starting QB, Williams panning out, along with Cajuste, Froholft, Cowart producing...that would be MAJOR, although very optimistic, that's still on the table

Now '20 offers us Dugger, Uche, Jennings, Asiasi, Keene, Rohrwasser, and Omenwu

    Lots of youth to like

Not to mention the handul of legitimate UDFAs NE brought in last week along with JC Jackson and Jakobi Meyers
