What have I done that is rude or disrespectful?

I'm just here to talk football.
You came in with a very contrarian view, presented in a way that comes off as argumentative not seeking constructive discussion.

subsequently you gave terse and flip responses to questions like “what were your expectations”, not anything substantive that comes across as conversational not confrontational.

you have no track record or history to show you’re interested in anything beyond a hit and run flame job.

if I’m wrong show me. Until then I’m just reading what you present, and holding up a mirror for you to have some feedback.

There is a lot of praise for Cam and how the offense performed on here.

I feel like I watched a completely different game.

- Playing one of the worst teams in the league last year, the offense had 7 points going into halftime, and 14 points through 55 minutes(!), despite the defense getting two interceptions which put them in Miami territory off the bat.

- Cam's passing wasn't bad, but it was very little substance. Nearly all short throws. He had 2 passes all game that were in the air further than 15 yards.

- It was all his legs. I'm not against running but keep in mind that Miami was DEAD LAST (#32) in the league last year in passing defense. They gave up 39 passing TD's last year and 4,200 passing yards. Yet Cam couldn't squeak out more than 155 yards, 0 TD's and a 79 QBR?

I was big on Cam before he signed in NE. My buddy who is a Panthers fan said "don't be". And I'm starting to agree with them. 14 points in the first 55 minutes play is not cool - especially against the Dolphins.

I guess I just don't understand where all the praise is coming from. I didn't think much in that game deserved praise (from the offense).
This the offense. Without Harry’s fumble and a short fg missed its 31 points. They are going to run the ball, and control the clock. They will create opportunities to throw. Newton threw 19 passes. That’s a great thing because we didn’t need to throw. Of course it was his legs. That’s his game. He ran 15 times, with good results, he threw 19 times with good results, he created running space for the RBs with the option threat.
He didn’t throw it 40 times but he had the impact of 40 plays.
That is what this team will be. We will throw it when teams overcommit to stopping the run, which means we will be throwing against a weakened pass defense.
it’s not that hard to understand.

OP called Arians an excellent coach in another topic. LOL

You really expect them to do that well?

why is everyone assuming it’s a foregone conclusion Buffalo rolls over Miami next weekend? It’s not like they played an NFL caliber team yet this season.

I'm not saying they will or they won't, I'm just saying IF that happens, it kinda says a lot about the state of the NE offense.

While it wasn't quite the optimal way to discuss it, it at least brought up some points about the fact that the days of being preseason Super Bowl favorites are over. I think there were enough positives to take away from this one to feel optimistic and I think I was already pretty mentally prepared for a season that was full of questions with unexpected outcomes. I think every week is going to be different and as long as they're in it and don't look terrible, I'll be good with that, even when they do drop a game here and there. As long as they stay in the mix.

Thank you Ian.

2nd Team Getting Their First Start
Which is absolutely true, but NO team had a pre-season.

Seahawks scored 38
Packers scored 43
Vikings scored 34
Bills scored 27
Washington scored 27
Ravens scored 38
Raiders scored 34
Panthers scored 30
Jags scored 27
Saints score 34
Bears scored 27
Falcolns scored 25

It's not like there was a lack of scoring around the league.

They all didn't play a pre-season.

They still did more than 14 points in 55 minutes.

Which one of those teams acquired a QB that is now starting about a month before the season started? How many of those teams have a lot of key pieces that have built rapport together from the previous year?

Oh the Pats are the only team that did that? Crazy it was a limited gameplan on offense then

I think non Patriots fans (like some of us) are comparing this offense to Brady's. It's not going to be that way, nor should it.

There's nothing wrong with 155 passing + 217 yards rushing whatsoever. Maybe the next opponent will require 300 passing and 150 rushing to beat it. That's how we roll.

And of course since this is the "preseason" now.

On the Game Day Roster
The offense left at least 10 points on the field. Missing those opportunities cannot happen against better opponents. Personally, I think the team will improve and many of the mistakes that stopped them from scoring last Sunday will be corrected. I also expect the execution will get better and it will have to against better teams.

I smell what you're cooking to an extent, but the Pats really should've scored 37 points in that game, and only 3 of those 16 missing points - the sack Cam needlessly took to push them out of FG range (terrible play-calling there) - was his fault...This Sunday will be a far greater indication of where this team truly stands than this past Sunday was.

Yeah really like Taylor. Whats cool about the rb group is they all bring something different. Having Harris is gonna keep Michel fresh. I thought Sony ran hard Sunday. And of course, Cam will help open things up.
Gonna be an interesting year.

This is cool. Look at how evenly used the RBs were. And they ALL played. Snap counts for Sunday:

RB Rex Burkhead (19; 30%),
RB James White (19; 30%),
RB Sony Michel (19; 30%),
RB J.J. Taylor (9; 14%),
