California coronavirus: What the state is doing right - CNN
I get why he's shooting for the beginning of May, for the same reason we tell our kids, "maybe later on..." Have to give the public something positive short-term to think toward, whether it's true or not. People are already freaking out enough as it is. You tell them it's going to go several months from now, it will get ugly even faster.

I agree with that. He's the most unpredictable person right now.
It wouldn't surprise me if he did it however and refused to look at the long term effect this would have.
Let's be clear. There were and are hundreds of drugs being tested. With the president and his staff publicly choosing this drug, the drug would have remained one of the hundred. Doctors are not immune from being influenced by the president.
So, the WH and staff have decided to try to get America to take this one untested drug. I believe that it is the job of the media and experts to give the public and doctors the information they need. And yes, government agencies should take back their emergency approvals.
The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC
Hes on after that hottie Rachel Maddow.
He already did the Easter thing and then eventually backed off when the numbers dictated otherwise. But let's be honest, end of May might be realistic if the temperature goes up and the cases go down and remain manageable. For example, the Bahamas or the islands don't seem to be getting hit particularly hard, which is hopefully a positive sign that the heat does help some. Fingers crossed that the warmer weather does end up helping...we definitely need it.
1750 and counting, compared to a bit over 1900 from yesterday. For sure it will be higher.
He had better be because if he comes out the way he has in these public appearances, debates, and on-air interviews, he will get mopped. I agree he looked a little more "with it" in the debates but there were some instances where he looked like his brain exploded. The part where they asked him if he walked back his previous stances on illegal immigrants getting health care, you could almost see smoke coming out of his ears before he answered yes, that he would be for it.
Exactly. You tell the general public that they're going to be cooped up for 6 months and people will hit the streets en masse in a panic. You have to basically give them one month at a time.
Thanks for sharing what you've observed.
What expert has said that we will have no risk of another wave?
Here are my pros and cons of this pandemic.
PTO, I need to burn through 4 weeks since Mid March-End April
When I do work and go in the office no traffic
So many more people out walking and they all seem so happy
Family; they're all home: middle school, high school, college AND a teacher wife I wanted to chill out for month on my PTO!
I can't go anywhere on my vacation days
Amazon prime ain't delivering my crap quickly any more, so much for 2 day shipping
My internet and Netflix sux when you've got 4 people doing video conferencing all day
When I work remote, all remote webex just sucks
Yikes. That's a unionized meat truck driver from Bath, PA.
Yup, herd immunity is that base case often discussed . "Let er rip", and accept the 2.2M dead now , and then wait for the 2nd wave in the Fall, and hope the immunity is still their against the mutated strains that hit the USA in the Fall.
BTW, it is NOT yet clear that folks who have had the virus are immune against the virus in the US. It is certainly not proven that these folks are immune for other strains of the virus (with different effects) that are being experienced elsewhere in the world.
