Not to be off topic, but is there anybody, Democrat or Republican, who doesn't think there is something wrong with Biden?

It's probably the only thing everybody agrees on.

no more than with the other major candidate for president

However, if there is enough pressure, perhaps Biden's folks would ask Cuomo to declare. Cuomo would win easily.

@Clonamery you might want to take a screen shot of that for posterity. Sure it's just Jetefan saying it and they're easier to impress than your dog who excitedly marvels at your ability to put down his food everyday but still

The hardest thing in this country, regardless of party, is that becoming president is near impossible unless you have a lot of money. Any of the intelligent considerate posters in here who wanted to run would have a hard time unless they raised millions of dollars in order to get themselves in front of the right people. That's sort of one of the biggest issues in a problem that doesn't seem close to yet being solved. Makes it hard for normal, everyday people to emerge on that stage. They get squashed before they ever get started. That's how we keep getting stuck with people age 60+ (or 70+) to choose from.

I've been on this issue for weeks in my community. Glad to see some science here, but does it take a scientist to get us to see this?

The walking trails here have been generally well self-governed, with folks walking on the edges. But everyday there are runners that take the middle, no mask on, and make no effort to give people the necessary space. Their respiratory fog is at least 10 feet wide.

Two days ago, I heard a guy coming behind me, moved off the trail about 10 feet, and he gave me an angry glare and blew snot rockets onto the trail.

This is what happens when personal freedom gets mixed up with adolescent narcissism - angry entitlement behavior.

It is also why we've had so little luck getting money out of politics. Those who are elected show up at work on Day One with massive debts, in the form of favors and access. Legislation to turn that around, under those circumstances, is near impossible. And years ago, when those vested interests got threatened by campaign finance reform, they run a years-long publicity campaign and legal strategy to convince the American people and the court system that somehow, money is equal to free speech, when it has just the opposite effect.

“Officials said the options being discussed on reopening the country vary widely in scope, from recommendations on benchmarks for when individual states can begin easing restrictions to a nationwide ‘big bang’ that Trump previewed Tuesday evening on Fox News. The officials said the conversations were still preliminary and would likely evolve over the course of the next weeks.”

“Still, some officials have even begun mulling the type of event Trump may want to mark the day when nationwide restrictions are lifted after he suggested a ‘big celebration’ when the crisis is over…”

“Multiple officials said this week the discussions could lead to a clash between health and economic advisers, who have disagreed over the past month on the extent and length of distancing recommendations for Americans.”

Aides hope to give Trump his economic 'big bang' starting in May - CNNPolitics

OK, I generally agree, but not quite.

    TRUMP
Did Trump really get the nomination because of the money that backed him. Did his opponents really lose because they lacked money. The reality is that 15 candidates had a one year opportunity to present themselves to the voters. The people in Iowa and NF mad THEIR decisions. I understand that folks don't think that this is fair and that the people of some other states should have had more influence. But, make no mistake, it is the voters who chose candidate Trump.

Do we really believe that Trump won the general election because his campaign had more money and more support from the rich? Really? The Democrats had plenty of money and plenty of backing from the tech giants and bankers. It is the VOTERS of PA, MI and WI who made the difference. Yes, the Democratic candidate could have campaigned much better, but that didn't happen. BYW, campaigning better really means "convincing more voters in key states" to vote for you.

    2020 DEMOCRATS
20 candidates had at least a year to present their views to the people of Iowa, NH, NV and SC. Big money did NOT prevent the voters of these states from choosing among many viable candidates. And the race wasn't really over until March 3rd, when the voters in lots of states have mad their choice known

In the 2020 general election, IMO, the Democrats will have PLENTY of money. The bankers will provide a lot, the tech giants will help, Hollywood will help, and lots of rich business leader will help. And BLOOMBERG will make sure the Democrats have enough money.
    ==========
    BOTTOM LINE
IMO, we shouldn't blame the system for not having lots of choices. Was there a better qualified candidate than Trump in 2016? Sure! Was there a better Democratic candidate than Biden in 2020? Sure! In 2026 and in 2020, if we want to find who to blame, I suggest a mirror.

That is why the LI doc is using a different antibiotic than the zpac.
    https://nypost.com/2020/04/04/long-island-doctor-tries-new-hydroxychloroquine-for-covid-19-patients/

Great Result considering he was dealing with the group with the highest risk. Of course the hydroxychloroquine itself is safe, every GI who went to Viet Nam was given it along with another anti malarial drug weekly and for 8 week after leaving. That would be over 3 million people with no reported health risks.

One wonders why the press is so fanatically opposed to treatments that may help.

Lmfao, this is another line of attack he can't win. This is why he was so worried about Biden he sent the worse attorney in the world to dig up dirt on him in Ukraine.

The number of ventilators is a deflecting issue. Many more will die because of lack of proper supplies than will die for lack of a ventilator. How many have died because of the lack of a ventilator? How many first responders and health workers have died in NYC because of lack of PED's?

A hidden cause of death is the inability to have enough both kinds of tests and to have the test results available. A second, not so hidden cause, is those people who have not stayed home, whether there are state orders or not. How many died in NO because of Mardi Gras, everywhere because of Spring Break, and because of church meetings like conferences, and choir meetings?

So you think a retired Army Lt Col with expertise of many year in this specific area who describes WHY the virus could have ben mnodified by man you dismiss it out of hand? How totally ignorant of you.
