The New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints have agreed to conduct joint practices on both August 7-8 prior to their pre-season game on August 9 at Foxborough. Both teams announced the news today.
The Saints also came to New England in 2010 for pre-season joint practices, fresh off their Super Bowl victory over the Colts and it easily held the largest crowds of the workouts that summer.
It was very interesting to see the players and coaches interact with one another immediately after drills as the sidelines mingled together. Much mutual respect was shown one another and it also gives players fighting for playing time a chance to shine against top competition outside of game action.
For players on the bubble, these workouts will be of paramount importance as they try to show the coaches what they’re capable of doing. Patriots and Saints fans flocked to this event last time, so my advice is get there early.
